Who Do People Say You Are?
Mt 16:13-14 (21st Ord Time Yr A)

Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”

They replied, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

Matthew 16:13-14

Who do people say you are?  Do they say you have your grandmother’s ears and your father’s sense of humor?  That you remind them of a boss or a teacher they once had?  That you’re a regular Betty Crocker, you like to cook so much, or that you’re another St. Francis, you love animals so?

Who do people say you are?

Who do you say you are?

Take some time this week to ponder these questions in prayer.  As you do so, you might also spend some time appreciating and thanking God for the people in your life who have had a part in making you who you are today.

And before the week is over, be sure to take some time to ask God who God says you are—and to listen for the answer.
